Heather Powell

Heather is the Managing Director of Denbighshire Music Co-operative and the founder and Manager of ‘Music Mania’.   Heather is supported in her role by a Board of Directors and a full time Office Manager as she now also works as a consultant in the set up of Music Co-operatives all over the UK.

Originally from North Wales, Heather plays the baritone horn and graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2005. Heather was taught by both Robert Childs and Steven Mead.  She has performed with many of the UK’s leading brass bands including Foden’s Band and was a member of the National Youth Brass Band of Wales for many years. Following her degree Heather spent a year with a military band in Germany.

Heather now lives in Llandyrnog, is a keen Welsh learner and a mum to 3 boys.  Along with her team of dedicated tutors and musicians, Heather is the Manager of ‘Music Mania’ and very much enjoys watching this course grow each year.
